All-Fiber-Guild Ice Cream Social!
Sunday, June 8, 2–4 PM
Degallery, 930 North Rosemary Dr, Bryan
Members of all local textile and fiber guilds are invited for an afternoon of treats, talk, and textiles at Degallery.
The ice cream social takes place against the backdrop of two Textile & Fiber Arts Exhibitions, both on display at Degallery through July 1. The exhibitions feature outstanding works by artists from across the Brazos Valley and Texas.
Starting at 2:30 PM, we will hold a discussion about ways to make our community of artists stronger and more integrated. We will consider key takeaways from recent BCS fiber-related events, including the Brazos Valley Fiber Festival (March) and the Contemporary Handweavers of Texas Conference (May), and we will share hopes and ideas for events to come, including the Bluebonnet Quilt Guild Quilt Show (September). What is going well? What can we do better? How can we best share resources and information? And how can we foster enthusiasm and participation among our members and the community at large?
Hosted by the Brazos Spinners & Weavers Guild
