Card Weaving

Class Fee $45.00 A $5.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

In this class we will be using an ancient and very portable technique for weaving a colorful patterned band to use as a strap, band, or belt. Weaving cards, yarn, and other supplies are included in the supply fee. (Extra cards will be available for purchase $2/14 cards.) Limit: 6 students/class.This class is also appropriate for children Ages 13-16.

Inkle Weaving

The student learns to warp and weave inkle bands on a portable loom.  These bands are used for a variety of tasks like hat bands, guitar straps, belts.

Intro to Weaving – short class

Class Fee $45.00 Materials included.

Have you always wanted to weave but didn’t know how to get started?  This class is for you.  Participants will begin with a table loom set up and ready to go.   Weave a table runner or plain weave sampler to take home, using our materials. This course is needed before taking any of the next three courses. The following 3 courses can be taken in any order. Surface Design in Weaving, Tapestry Techniques on a 4 Shaft Loom, and The Thrill of Twill

Mom and Daughter Penny Pocket

Instructor: Vicki Anders

Course Fee $25.00 for the pair A $5.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

The student will learn to weave a pocket with a flap using a tapestry needle, cardboard and available yarns.

Off-loom Tapestries: Make & Take

Course Fee $45.00 A $5.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

This is a 3 hour class in which you take home your work of art

Off-loom Weaving: Make & Take

Ages 10+

Penny Purse

Instructor: Vicki Anders

Course Fee $45.00 A $3.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

The student will learn to weave a pocket with a flap using a tapestry needle, cardboard and available yarns.

Rigid Heddle Weaving

Instructor: Dawn Merker

Class Fee $35.00 A $3.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

The student will learn to warp and  weave on a rigid heddle loom.

Surface Design in Weaving

Now that you have finished Beginning Weaving, learn some further techniques to create texture, again using  looms already set up.  Some of the areas we will explore include: Rya knots, chaining and twining, Brooks Bouquet, leno lace, and sheena knots. Must have taken Intro to Weaving.

Tapestry Primer: Weaving a Sampler on a Simple Frame Loom

Instructor: Toni Wilson

Class Fee $35.00 A $3.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

Please bring:
A small frame loom (a few will be available for rent)
No. 13 yarn needle (sold in packages of two at craft stores)
Students can bring a canvas stretcher frame loom 9″ x 12″ or smaller. A sturdy piece of cardboard 8″ x 12″ can be substituted
Scissors.
A variety of yarn will be supplied.

Tapestry Techniques on 4 Shaft Looms

Class Fee $45.00 Materials included.

The ancient art of tapestry is used to create areas of color on the surface of your weaving.  Come and play with us to learn some of the techniques used to create a tapestry sampler on pre-warped looms.  Must have taken Beginning Weaving.

Tapestry Weaving on a Frame Loom

Instructor: Helen Dewolf

Class Fee $45.00          A $5.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

Student will warp a simple frame loom then use dyed wool yarn to weave a small sampler.

The Thrill of Twills

Instructor: Kay McWilliams

Class Fee $45.00 Materials included.

Now that you have the mechanics of weaving, come learn some more advanced techniques.  Weavers will use 4-shaft table looms to explore many of the twill patterns. This is a round-robin class with each loom set-up with a different twill threading.  Learn to read a threading draft.  Must have taken Beginning Weaving.

Tiny Tapestries

Class Fee $35.00 A $12.00 supply cost will be collected at the start of class.

Weaving is an ancient art that we carry into the 21st century.  We will warp a small simple frame loom and then use an assortment of yarn, ribbons, loose fibers and other objects to weave a small tapestry.  Please bring a sturdy fork for packing down the yarn.  We will provide a small loom and supplies for weaving during the class period.

A small frame loom of your own ($8-10) and additional weaving materials ($5.) will be available for purchase.
